Unified School District No. 232 is pleased to announce the recommendation of Mr. Kerry Wixon as the next Associate Principal/Activities Director of Mill Creek Middle School, beginning with the 2025–26 school year. His appointment is pending formal approval by the Board of Education.

“We are pleased to have an individual with Kerry’s qualifications to help support Mill Creek Middle School in providing excellent learning opportunities for students,” said Jordan Funk, Director of Human Resources. “Kerry’s leadership experience and years in public education will translate well at MCMS.”

Mr. Wixon currently serves as the Vice Principal and Activities Director at Lansing Middle School in USD 469. Upon Board approval, he will succeed Denise Legore Seawood in the associate principal role. Seawood will assume the position of principal at Mill Creek Middle School effective July 1.

Wixon brings 16 years of experience in public education to the role. He began his career in the Hazelwood School District in St. Louis, serving Southeast Middle School for three years. He then spent 11 years in Bonner Springs/Edwardsville USD 204 before taking on his current role at Lansing Middle School.
